This property has gone downhill since the last time we stayed here nearly 10 years ago. While it looks as though they may have expanded, the room we stayed in was equivalent to a 2-star budget. Bungalow 2, which I assume is their family suite, had lots of issues, as did the property. There were lots of different bugs in our room (3 wasps on the sliding glass door, several large ‘ant-like’ bugs on the walls and ceiling, and 10+ little flying bugs both in the entry and inside the bathroom). We had to call the front desk because the sliding glass door was off track and wouldn’t lock and then the remote was dead so they replaced the batteries. There were lots of marks along the walls which made the room look dirty and unkept. The bathroom looked like something from a Super 8 motel…no one felt comfortable showering without shower shoes! The water refill station closest to our room was either empty or just not working. The king size mattress was literally hard as a brick…I have honestly never slept on a harder mattress and I’m 45 and have traveled the world. I’ve had softer from a sleeping bag foam pad! There were 6 suites in this building and ours was the only one without a patio hammock (you could see where it would have gone but was never replaced.. I posted pictures). The wi-fi was extremely spotty and the front desk gave us another network which was said to be ‘stronger’ but was not. And the security gate was completely inoperable as the entire keypad system had been removed! So, at night it was left cracked open and during the day it was wide open. The positives for this property is that it’s directly across the street from the beach and the breakfast was abundant in offerings. Please know that several of these concerns were shared with the front desk within hours of our arrival as they sent someone to fix the door and change the battery remote. We were told that there was no one on property to come and take a look at our other complaints such as the bugs. The next morning around 9:30am we still hadn’t heard from anyone so we switched hotels and moved to the MUCH nicer Terrazas del Caribe which is essentially next door and up the hill a bit. I hope no one from the property tries to leave a comment saying they value their customers and our experience, because they clearly do not! While I was on the property and providing an opportunity to ‘make it right’ no one came, so spare me the response now. People pay too much money to have a good, clean, fun, and safe experience. If this property doesn’t provide this, there are many more that will.
